Mascot Contest 2011 Open

The Mascot Contest for the 2011 mascot is now open. Show off your work and enter for a chance to get your entry used all over Sakura-Con in 2011. The contest will close on February 28th.


2010 Feature Musical Guest: HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR

HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR Sakura-Con is pleased to present 2010's Feature musical guests: HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR
Formed in Okinawa, Japanese rock band HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR has contributed theme songs for three hit anime series: "Bleach," "Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny: Special Edition," and "Darker Than Black." The band has also contributed film songs for "Death Note: The Last Name (tribute album)" and "Anata wo Wasurenai." In 2009, HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR (also known to their Japanese fans as "Haikara") returned to their original label Spice Records and released a new album "Swamp Man" featuring a new vocalist HALCA. Their appearance at Sakura-Con 2010 will mark their first overseas performance with their new lineup.

HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR appears by arrangement with Spice Records and JapanFiles.

2010 Guest of Honor: Brina Palencia

Brina Palencia ANCEA is pleased to announce Brina Palencia as a Guest of Honor at Sakura-Con 2010.
Brina Palencia is a voice actress and ADR director for Funimation.
More recently she's been cast as Rei Ayanami in Evangelion 1.0, Juliet in Romeo X Juliet, Tamama in Sgt. Frog, Holo in Spice and Wolf, and Miharu in Nabari No Ou. Her voice can also be heard on several video games such as Guitar Hero III and Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon as the Moogle/Dungeon Hero X.
If you are in the mood for gore, she also voiced the title character for the live action dub of The Machine Girl.
Her ADR Directing credits include: Moon Phase (eps 21-26), School Rumble, Black Blood Brothers, and xxxHOLiC (the movie and eps 1-8).
She also served as the music director for Sasami and Negima!?.


2010 Guest of Honor: Luci Christian

Luci Christian ANCEA is pleased to announce Luci Christian as a Guest of Honor at Sakura-Con 2010.
Some of Luci's voice acting credits for Funimation Entertainment include Psiren and Wrath in Fullmetal Alchemist, Nami in One Piece, Rico in Gunslinger Girl, Tenma in School Rumble, Cassandra in Black Blood Brothers, Honey in Ouran Host Club, Ophelia in Claymore, and Kirino in Bamboo Blade.
Credits for ADV Films include Deunan in Appleseed ExMachina, Kaname Chidori in Full Metal Panic!, FMP FUMOFFU!, and FMP The Second Raid, Sasshi in Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, Ringo in Air Gear, Mako in Nerima Daikon Brothers, Mizuki in Guyver, Haruko in Air TV, and Jinpei in Gatchaman.
If you are a DDR fan, her voice is all over Dance Dance Revolution Universe for the X-BOX 360. In addition to anime, Luci's acting career spans radio, industrial, television, and anything else she can book.


2010 First Musical Guest: Dazzle Vision

Dazzle Vision Sakura-Con is pleased to present 2010's first musical guests: Dazzle Vision.

Popular in the Japanese indie scene for their hard rock sound and Maiko's alternating melodic/death-voice vocals, Dazzle Vision was formed in June 2003, and has held their current lineup since May 2008.

Dazzle Vision released their first album "Origin of Dazzle" in November of 2006. Their second album "Camellia Japonica" was released in April 2007, followed by an 11-city tour of Japan. After selling out of the first presses of "Origin of Dazzle" and "Camellia Japonica," their 3rd album "Crystal Children" hit #1 on HMV's pre-sale chart and #2 on Tower Records pre-sale chart prior to its official release in November 2008.

Dazzle Vision's appearance at Sakura-Con will mark their first live performance in North America.


2010 Guest of Honor: Richard Epcar

Richard Epcar ANCEA is pleased to announce Richard Epcar as a Guest of Honor at Sakura-Con 2010.
Richard Epcar is well known to anime and game fans, starting with the original Robotech series, in which he played Ben Dixon, Lunk, Grel.
Some games you've heard him on: Kingdom Hearts 2 and Chained Memories as Ansem / Xehanort, Star Craft 2 as Dark Templar, Guilty Gears II, Naruto, Robotech Invasion, Warcraft III and World of Warcraft, and Street Fighters.
Most recently he can be heard on Bleach as Koga and Zangetsu, Narurto, Buso Renkin, Huntik as Grier, Ghost Slayer Ayashi, Blue Elephant, Blaze of Glory, and Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo.
There are many live action foreign films that he has adapted and directed into English.
He is involved in the voice work for many television shows.
