Contests
Each year Sakura-con hosts a variety of contests, from Anime Music Video contests to the Fanfiction/Manga Contest! Anyone can enter from the first-time artists to the professional video editor as long as you're a registered member. There are a variety of prizes and categories, and room for everyone to compete. Many of these contests require entry deadlines prior to the convention, so check for updates!
- AMV -- Anime Music Video and Original Video Animation (deadline February 29)!
- Costume Contest -- Cosplay Costume Contest, show of your cosplay skills (deadline in March)!
- Skit Contest -- Skits performed by fans in costume (deadline in March)!
- Mascot Contest -- Design our mascot for next year (deadline March 4)!
- Karaoke -- Karaoke contest (deadline April 1)! (Application available here)
- Sakura-Con Commerical Contest -- Create a commercial that will entice people to become members of ANCEA and attend Sakura-Con 2011. (deadline Feb. 1)
- Extremely Hard Take Home Anime Quiz 2012 (zip file) -- This panel and contest is brought to you by Ronald Mar, who has put together an in-depth, 50-question quiz covering a broad spectrum of subjects, from calculus to architecture, art to history, astronomy to music. It will force you to think about anime you've seen in a whole new light, and hopefully give a deeper appreciation for some of the construction that goes into anime. Prizes will be given at the Sunday panel. Rules are included in the zip file.
