Sakura-Con Masquerade Ball 2012: LOST IN TIME

Friday evening, be swept away, out of this century! This year's Sakura-Con Masquerade Ball 2012 will take you on a time warp out of this time and back. Come for a night of excitement and thrills as this year's ball will take you on a journey unlike ever before. An instructional ballroom dance-panel will be held before the dance so that you can be sure to start the night off on the right foot. No dance partner is required! Just a willingness to meet new people and to have fun!

Dress Code:

Remember, the Masquerade Ball is Sakura-Con's premier formal event. Masks are required and be sure to dress to impress! Attendance to the masquerade ball requires at least semi-formal attire. The ball definitely welcomes more formal attire as well as fancy/formal cosplay or formal ethnic-wear!

Attire: Semi-Formal Attire or Semi-Formal Cosplay MINIMUM (Note that any Cross-dressing still must adhere to the dress code)

Minimum requirement for Cosplay:

Cosplay is accepted, but must still be considered fancy/semi-formal for entry.

*finger-tip length: The skirt/dress must be touchable by the fingertips when the arm is at full rest down the side of the body with no bend in the elbow.

Ethnic formal-wear (i.e. Kimonos, Formal Kilts, Korean Hanbok etc.) is acceptable as well.

Masks:

Masks are required to enter the Masquerade Ball. If you do not have a mask, please come to the Mask Making Panel earlier in the day. There will be a very limited number of masks at the door for distribution, so please plan ahead.

Permitted Masks: face-painted masks, full-face, traditional, Venetian (stick-mounted).

Not Permitted: Helmets, ski-masks, sport-styled masks, sunglasses.

ABSOLUTELY NO: JEANS, T-SHIRTS, INTENTIONALLY RIPPED CLOTHING, OBSCENE MARKINGS OR IMAGES

***Staff reserves the right to make any final determination on attire at any time during the ball.

Rules

The Masquerade Ball is a family friendly event and all Sakura-Con policies and guidelines are still in effect. Please use common sense while in attendance at the Masquerade Ball. The ball is a social dance where close interaction routine, but any disruptive or inappropriate behavior will result in expulsion from the ball for the rest of the evening. If you are finding you are having a problem with someone while in attendance, please locate a staff member and speak with them immediately.

As a formal event adherence to the dress code for Sakura-Con's Masquerade Ball is mandatory.

Evaluation of behavior by Sakura-Con Attendee Services is on a case by case basis and if found to have broken any Sakura-Con policy and/or guideline may result in further action.
