2010 Guest of Honor: Cari Corene

ANCEA is pleased to announce Cari Corene as a Guest of Honor at Sakura-Con 2010.

Originally from Alaska, Cari Corene attended the Savannah College of Art & Design, graduating in 2009 with a degree in sequential art. Her printed work most recently has come to include "Toilet Genie" (www.storyofthedoor.com), a self published web and print comic. The comic features a pug that falls into a toilet, thus releasing a rather snarky genie who had up until that point been bound body and soul to the extremely scummy receptacle. Her work also includes Tokyopop's "Rising Stars of Manga 8", and the toning of volume 3 and 4 of Alex De Campi's "Kat & Mouse". 2010 Guest of Honor: Jennie Breeden

ANCEA is pleased to announce Jennie Breeden as a Guest of Honor at Sakura-Con 2010.

Jennie Breeden is the creator of the autobiographical webcomic The Devil's Panties. Ms. Breeden has been posting her daily webcomic since 2001 and has published three graphic novels that are in comic shops and book stores around the world. She documents her adventures at conventions and in life. Really, who hasn't gone clubbing with pirates in Canada, hunted dinosaurs in Virginia, and beaten up Zombies in an abandoned mall? She's still keeping an eye out for those ninjas though. Jennie owns a house in Atlanta Georgia where she terrorizes her housemates cats and goes hiking with her boyfriend.


2010 Guest of Honor: Wendy Powell

Wendy Powell is so excited to be here with all of you...so let's start this CON out with a bang! Wendy has been a professional voice actress for Funimation Entertainment and Okratron 5000 for over 7 years. She is probably most well known for a little villain named "Envy" on Fullmetal Alchemist. She was most recently in a new role in Claymore where she plays the character Ilene. Her most challanging role this year was the role of IKU in Shirguri...you need to watch it to know why! Wendy is also known for smaller parts in which she usually dies a most painful death. Some of her credits include: Emi in Baki the Grappler, Amick in Blue Gender, the Fever Demon in Shin Chan, Kyo's mother in Fruits Basket, and Kasuga in Negima, Paula "Lady Death" In Trinity Blood. She has also voiced characters in Kitty Grade, Case Closed, Yu Yu Hakusho, Peach Girl, xxxHolic, One Piece, Galaxy Railways, Tsubasa, Gunslinger Girl, Moon Phase, Glass Fleet, and many others. Video Game credits include Spikeout, Fullmetal Alchemist, Curse of the Crimson, and Broken Angel. Wendy's first love is the Theatre (although Anime is quickly catching up!!!); she works in local theatre in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

ANCEA is pleased to announce Tsuyoshi Nonaka as a Guest of Honor at Sakura-Con 2010.

Tsuyoshi Nonaka is a Mechanical designer known for his work on D.I.C.E. (TV) and Shin Mazinger Shogeki! Z-Hen. This will be Nonaka-San's first Sakura-Con.


2010 Guest of Honor: Yasuhiro Imagawa

ANCEA is pleased to announce Yasuhiro Imagawa as a Guest of Honor at Sakura-Con 2010.

Yasuhiro Imagawa has directed several unconventional updates of classic Japanese robot stories, such as Giant Robo, Mobile Fighter G Gundam, and most recently, Shin Mazinger Shogeki! Z-Hen. He also wrote scrips for Pet Shop of Horrors, Violinist of Hamelin, Beserk and Harelya II Boy. This is Imagawa-San's first Sakura-Con.


2010 Guest of Honor: Yutaka Minowa

ANCEA is pleased to announce Yutaka Minowa as a Guest of Honor at Sakura-Con 2010.

Yutaka Minowa is a character designer and animation director who works almost exclusively with Madhouse, one of the premiere Japanese animation companies. His work is most notably recognized in the Yoshiaki Kawijiri movies he has designed characters for, among them Ninja Scroll and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. He's also worked as character designer and/or animation director for many popular titles including Outlaw Star, Animatrix, and many, many more. This is Minowa-san's second Sakura-Con.


2010 Guest of Honor: Chloe Chan

ANCEA is pleased to announce Chloe Chan as a Guest of Honor at Sakura-Con 2010.

Chloe Chan, who goes by the alias Nuu online, is the visual art aspect of a creative team that makes original comics and doujinshi. She is best known for her work on the shounen-ai webcomic Honeydew Syndrome (http://www.honeysyn.net). A graduate from the design program at Capilano University in Vancouver, she specializes in illustration and is now freelancing as an illustrator, painter, and comic artist. Her personal goal is to pop all of the popcorn in the world. And then eat it.

ANCEA is pleased to announce Ellyn Stern as a Guest of Honor at Sakura-Con 2010.

Ellyn Stern began acting at the age of 12. She is a classically trained actress known for both her dramatic and comedic roles. Her career spans from film to television to stage.

Ellyn's career in anime began with the original 'Robotech' series- in which she played several characters. Most recently she can be heard as 'Yu's Mom' in 'Noein' ,'Jack's Mom' in Mar, and Ichigo's mom, Masaki Kurosaki in Bleach. She voiced 'Haraway' in 'Ghost in the Shell 2-Innocence'. She played 'Rosalind' in 'Armitage III', 'Himeno' in 'Fight!! Spirit of the Sword', 'Sayaka' in 'Mental Fighter Miku', 'Moru' in ' Vampire Princess Miyu' 'Hiroshi's Mom' in 'Zenki','Zentrix', 'Mini Pato', 'Digimon', 'Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo', 'Parome' in 'Genma Wars', numerous roles in 'Mobile Suit Gundam-The Movie Trilogy', 'Bushido Blade 2', 'Lupin the 3rd', 'Patlabor 3', and 'Fighting Spirit', to name just a few.

You've heard her on 'Shadow Hearts II' as Veronica Vera and other characters. 2010 Musical Guests: Hsu-nami

ANCEA is pleased to announce Hsu-nami as a Musical Guests at Sakura-Con 2010.

Hsu-nami, an Erhu Rock fusion band from New Jersey, have played the TekkoshoCon in Pittsburg, The ArmegediCon in Columbus Ohio, and the Zenkaikon in Philadelphia.

They were recently one of the headlining acts of Taiwan Fest 2009. The largest Taiwanese Culture Festival in North America taking place in Toronto's "Harbor Front Centre", and Vancouver's "Plaza of Nations".

In the summer or 2008, Hsu-nami's music was featured in the 2008 Bejing Summer Olympics. Their song, "Rising of the sun", was picked to be the entrance theme for the Chinese Basketball team. The song has also been played during walk-ins, timeouts, and was incorporated with a martial arts routine during half time.

The band consists of a lead Er-Hu (Chinese violin) player accompanied by a five piece back-up band. They mix traditional Er-Hu styles with modern rock influences. Hsu-nami has opened for such Taiwanese pop acts likes Van Fan, Chthonic, and Bizzy Tak. They have also opened for American acts like Bowling for Soup, The Parlor Mob, Nightmare of You, Yellowcard, and Johnny Hi-Fi.

2010 Guest of Honor: Vic Mignogna

Vic Mignogna ANCEA is pleased to announce Vic Mignogna as a Guest of Honor at Sakura-Con 2010.
Vic has been acting for stage and screen since he was 8 years old. But he started his career in anime about ten years ago as Vega in Streetfighter II. Since then Vic has been in more than a hundred and fifty shows and video games, known for such roles as Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist, Tamaki Suou in Ouran High School Host Club, Fai in Tsubasa Chronicle, Dark in DN Angel, Kurz in Full Metal Panic, Broly in Dragonball Z, Kougaijji in Saiyuki, Ikkaku in Bleach, Yukito in Air, Takanaga in Wallflower, Tatsu in Peacemaker, Luciano in Code Geass, Virgil Walsh in Trinity Blood, Hikaru in Macross and many more. He is currently back in the role of Edward in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, playing Death Scythe in Soul Eater, as well as characters in Naruto and several others. Vic has also voiced roles in a large number of video games including Soul Calibur, Disgaea, Persona III, Project Sylpheed, DBZ, Bleach, FMA and more. But even longer than his voice acting, Vic has been a professional music composer / singer / producer who has written and produced hundreds of songs for TV, radio and CD. He sings the themes for shows like One Piece & DBGT, and has produced several CDs of his own original music. And finally, in addition to anime and music, Vic has a degree in film and works regularly writing, producing and directing video and film productions. Vic has voiced characters in more than 100 anime series and video games. Vic is also now realizing a childhood dream, acting and directing in an amazing web series called Star Trek Phase II. 2010 Guest of Honor: Troy Baker

Troy Baker ANCEA is pleased to announce Troy Baker as a Guest of Honor at Sakura-Con 2010.
Troy Baker is a multi-talented voice actor and performer. He most recently voiced Abel Nightroad in Trinity Blood. Baker also voiced such memorable characters as Frank Archer in Fullmetal Alchemist (TV), Nagi Springfield in Negima! Magic 101 (TV), and Alphonso in Gunslinger Girl (TV) and more. Baker also appeared in The Galaxy Railways, Lupin III, Bleach, Code Geass, Peach Girl, Shin Chan, Case Closed and many more. Troy has multiple video game and television roles to his credit, including: "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" (VG), Kanji in "Persona 4" (VG), Sol Badguy in "Guilty Gear 2: Overture" (VG), Yuri Lowell in "Tales of Vesperia" (VG) and Pea Eye Parker in "Comanche Moon" (TV). This Dallas-area native was originally the lead singer and guitarist for the band Tripp Fontaine.


2010 Musical Guests: Soul Candy

ANCEA is pleased to announce Soul Candy as a Musical Guests at Sakura-Con 2010.

Soul Candy is a Seattle-based band consisting for 4 talented musicians that bonded through their love of music and anime. They formed in July 2008 as a 5 piece band to perform for a local Filipino festival called Pista Sa Nayon.

After being received positively by the audience, they were approached by a local convention to perform as musical guests for their debut year. In 2009, they released their much anticipated debut EP, 'Soul Candy', that consists of 5 original tracks that boasts a variety of sounds from fast rock, danceable beats, catchy vocals and an epic ballad. As the four member band from Seattle call their music "otaku rock," the EP will appeal to many fans of Japanese animation.
